Diversifying Financial Services in Rwanda is designed to explore practical ways to develop a deeper, more efficient, and more diversified financial services sector that will support regional firms from across East and Central Africa to access capital markets for long-term financing needs.

Rwanda’s financial services sector is expanding, and despite recent international and domestic economic developments the country’s growth projection is positive at 7.4 percent in 2015 and 7.6 percent in 2016. However, more needs to be done to diversify and innovate into a more inclusive market that supports growth businesses, encourages institutional investors such as pension funds and insurers to invest in long-term projects, and meets the needs of consumers in East and Central Africa.

Through debate and discussion with business and investment leaders, this event will seek to highlight progress that Rwanda has made in establishing an investor friendly environment and focus on how to Rwanda can further develop policies to attract global investors that will help facilitate domestic and foreign debt financing and support access to international capital markets.
