Africa’s capital owners, allocators and managers have become more sophisticated. They understand investable strategies and executable themes in a continent that’s one of the world’s fastest-growing regions, young population and urbanizing. They look past the headline GDP numbers; media frenzy and understand what is really happening on the ground. They appreciate the regional idiosyncrasies of the continent, taking into account culture, geography, and historic trade links.
Building on the success of last year’s forum, the 2016 Africa Alternative Investment Intensive (AAII) - 3rd East Africa Forum seeks to highlight investable strategies, executable themes and showcase vetted investment opportunities across the regiona. The forum adopts an unbaised approach to detail regional idiosyncrasies, as well as what works and what doesn't work when investing in East and Central Africa.
It presents investment practitioners a “talk-show free” environment to gain an understanding of the key economic metrics for each of these regions; analysis of the export and import makeup; further analyses of the state of infrastructure, Africa’s transport and energy.
And curates an ecosystem driven by innovation and knowledge sharing about what works and what doesn’t work when investing in Africa. Whilst showcasing product innovations, structures and pooled investment vehicles for portfolio diversification and risk-adjusted returns.
